I am still in holiday shock. There was so much I wanted to do and still need to get done, yet there isn't much time left! I have so much I want to do with the kids before they leave.
My older two children will be with their dad the weekend of Christmas so I am going to attempt to create new traditions with them each day this week leading up to Friday.
One of those things included a holiday trip!
We were invited to visit the Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
At first, I was a little apprehensive, but I am so glad we all had the opportunity to be together on this awesome trip.
The new Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center is great for families visiting Myrtle Beach. If you are familiar with Myrtle Beach attractions, you know that there are hundreds of them! As a mom of three, it's important to take my family places where we can all have fun as a family.
Myrtle Beach is one of the places we like to visit during the summer and we are always looking for attractions that can cater to each of us.
I know you think wax museum, and you think- look, don't touch.
Well, although those are the rules here as well, there's something you CAN do that you can't do at most other wax museums -- PHOTO OPS!
Yes! At just about each exhibit, there are props that correlate with the waxed figures work. Here are some of our favorites: (photos)
There is also a horror section that included the main characters from movies such as Frankenstein, Tales from the Crypt and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Micah did NOT like this section. He's six and ultra-sensitive. So if any of you mamas visit and have a soft hearted little, there's a bypass to this section so use it! I literally had to cover his eyes until we made it to the other side. (photo)
The wax museum is just one of their attractions!
They have two more: Hannah's Maze of Mirrors and Outbreak.
In Outbreak, you must stop a worldwide viral attack. Chemacorp might mean well with Alpha Strain, but the gene-altering substance turns humans into zombies. You basically must find your way through the the Chemacorp lab and rotting basement where zombie infection is rampant and aerosol attacks are unpredictable. Zombies jump out and scare you! Because of Micah's apparent fear from the wax figures from earlier in the wax museum, I decided to let my daughter and my husband go in and I sat outside waiting with Micah. She thought it was super fun and not that scary!
Hannah's Maze of Mirrors was super cute! It begins with a back story of a princess who loved looking in the mirror. This ultimately led to a curse that trapped her in a mirror. It is your job to get through the maze to save her. You have to find your way through the hidden corridors making your way through 288 potential turns among hundreds of mirrored walls and archways while watching out for surprise curses. The kids both loved and enjoyed this attraction.
We were told we couldn't take pictures during either of these, but here are the promotional videos from YouTube! (video)
